There are some low-carb/low-sugar treats out there. The problem is that most of them have a high sugar alcohol content. The probably do help with weight loss, just not in a socially acceptable manner. For those who have been following this blog for a while you know that a few months ago I bought the expensive Williams-Sonoma popsicle maker (and wasn't impressed). I picked up this new, simple, old-fashioned contraption in the $1 bin at our grocery store. It worked beautifully.
The base for the popsicles was a can of Zevia Orange Soda (made with stevia). To the can I added 2 teaspoons of Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup. The two white popsicles are the orange/vanilla soda by itself. Zevia is made with no color additives. The yellow popsicle is the same flavor but I added 1 drop of yellow food coloring, just to make it look pretty. The red popsicle was supposed to be orange....and has a few small chips of dark chocolate added. It kind of looks like watermelon to me! The few pieces of dark chocolate add just a trace of carbs.
